Unintentional Möbius !

I am so spitting mad right now ! I am 5 rows into a 200 stitch brim of the Wind-and-Sea hat and discovered the brim is twisted in an unintentional möbius. Booooo!

Covering my skin from the sun, especially my head, has become very important. Last Friday, while at the dermatologist for an unrelated health issue, I asked the doctor to check a spot on the side of my face near my left ear. He performed a biopsy.

Yesterday I received the results. I have Basal Cell Carcinoma. I am told its a very treatable and very common skin cancer. http://www.ravelry.com./patterns/library/windansea

I am having surgery on the 16th of this month. I have absolute faith I will be ok. I am in great hands.

Now to frog the hat brim and restart... Because in 35 days my wonderful husband is taking me to the Florida Keys for Valentines Day!

  1. Sorry to hear about your surgery. it is treatable but you now need to be extra extra careful. SPF 100.
See Cat Bordhi's anemone hat where she has a mobius brim!

I will keep you in my prayers.

  3. Good luck with the surgery. I'm glad you had them take a look at it, because catching things like that early can make all the difference.

If you want to make yourself a wardrobe of hats, check out Annie Modesitt's patterns...she has some fabulous hats. Before she started designing knitwear she was a costume designer and a milliner, so her hats are terrific.
