Dyeology.com Drop Spindling

I broke out my drop spindles this past week. The fiber is called Batts to Go from dyeology.com. It is a mishmash of different types of fibers.

My drop spindle was fill so I wound the first skein of yarn. Next I will learn how to wash the yarn. I've never got that far in the process.

Back and two fronts finished. Throwing them into washer on wool setting and then I'll block them.

RIP Poo

Our sweet boy, Poo, left us at the end of April. It is still weird not having him here. I am so grateful that furry boy shared his life with us. He brought us lots of joy and unconditional love. He will be missed.

Remembering Grammy....

My wax plant is in bloom. It was started from a clipping off my Grammy's plant. I am always thinking about you Grammy and I miss you.

Seedling week two complete!

All the seeds have sprouted. Tomatoes, rosemary, cilantro, jalapeños, basil and mint are off and growing!

Groovy update!

It never fails... Poo comes running when I lay out a project for picture time. He is such a ham!

Beauty and sadness

Yesterday was such a beautiful day. My husband and I set off for downtown Columbus to walk along the river.

It was wonderful and sad too. While walking we came upon a homeless tent community. I felt like the wind was knocked out of me. From the path if you turned in a circle you could see homeless camps and in another direction you saw multimillion dollar condos. It is so baffling to me.

On a lighter note what is this tree with the glorious furry leaf bud?

East Falls Hat

Sitting at my favorite coffee shop, Stauf's, finishing my hat. It is knit with Rowan Purelife, which is made from recycled silk, cotton and viscose. I feel so green working on this project!

Groovygan update

8 blocks finished. Using Berroco Vintage. I originally bought the yarn for a knitted block blanket but realized it wanted to be the Groovygan instead.
